Welcome!

I'm pretty notorious in my circle of friends for making all sorts of food to stuff my face. What I seemed to hear time and time again was people saying "Ohhh this looks/tastes amazing but there's no way I could do that!" to which I would reply, "NO! YOU CAN!!"

How do I know you can? Well first of all I'm no expert and I don't live in an apartment with an insanely fancy kitchen filled with stainless steel appliances. Sure, I've cooked as long as I can remember and though I did work in a resturant, everything I learned I learned by watching other people, reading cook books, or trial and error.

I still make mistakes, but the awesome thing is for the most part, they taste good and are edible. :)

At it's simplest, good cooking just takes a little patience and being able to follow some directions. I taught my least knowledgeable friend, when it comes to anything kitchen related, how to make amazing homemade pasta sauce much to the delight of not only him but also those he has served it to.

If he can learn, you can to.

Cooking in my house growing up with my family was as much a necessity as it was a social thing and still to this day (when we actually have a chance to sit down together!), there is as much enjoyment in preparing the meal as there is in eating it. And I think this is the right attitude to have when approaching cooking.

Food can be extremely simple yet result in an overwhelming positive reaction by those sitting down to eat it. Likewise, itt can also be fabulously complicated and elaborate with all the bells and whistles. No matter your skill level, the more you do it, the better you get at it and the more fun it becomes and I really am not of the belief that one cannot learn to cook. If you're inexperienced, start with some of the more simple dishes/recipes and go from there. TRY!
